These terms govern your use of Seraglio (the "Software") and the seraglio.app website. By purchasing, downloading, or using the Software, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please don't use the Software.

1. The license you're buying

Seraglio is sold as a one-time purchase. Your payment grants you a perpetual, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the Software for your personal use on up to the number of machines stated at checkout (currently three). The license is issued as a key, which you may not publish, resell, or share.

2. What the Software does, and what you point it at

Seraglio is a local-first tool for viewing and arranging video and image files. Most of what it shows lives on your own device, in the folder you open. It can also act as a personal player for video you find on the web: an optional browser companion hands the app the address of a clip your browser is already viewing, and the app plays it back for you over the same kind of connection your browser would make. It ships with no media of its own, and it does not host, store for distribution, or share any media. You are solely responsible for the files and sites you choose to open with it, and for ensuring you have the right to possess and view that content under the laws that apply to you.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to use Seraglio to store, view, or process any material that is unlawful to possess in your jurisdiction, and not to use it in any way that violates applicable law. When you point it at the web, you agree to use it only for content you are entitled to access, to respect the terms of the sites you visit, and not to defeat any paywall, access control, or copy protection. You also agree not to reverse-engineer the Software, circumvent its licensing, or redistribute it.

4. Payment, delivery & taxes

Purchases are processed by our merchant of record, Lemon Squeezy, who handles payment, applicable taxes (VAT/GST), receipts, and license-key delivery. Their terms apply to the transaction itself.

5. Updates

Updates are provided at our discretion across all supported platforms (macOS, Windows, and Linux) and, where offered, are included with your existing license at no extra cost. We don't promise any specific feature or release date.

6. No warranty

The Software is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the Software is limited to the amount you paid for it. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
