Privacy Policy

Last updated: 21 June 2026

Seraglio is built local-first, and our privacy posture follows from that: we collect as little as possible, and the app itself collects nothing about what you watch.

The short version

What the app stores

Seraglio keeps its settings, your layouts, and your validated license key in local application storage on your own device. This data stays local and is removed if you uninstall the app.

Website analytics

This marketing website (seraglio.app) uses Google Analytics to understand aggregate traffic, such as which pages are visited and roughly where visitors arrive from, so we can improve the site. It sets a first-party analytics cookie. We do not run advertising networks, cross-site ad tracking, or ad-personalization signals, and we never sell your data. Visitors in the EEA and UK are asked to opt in first (Google Consent Mode): decline, or simply ignore the prompt, and no analytics cookie is set and the site runs without it. This applies to the website only: the Seraglio app itself stays completely analytics-free.

Information handled at purchase

When you buy Seraglio, checkout is handled by our merchant of record, Lemon Squeezy. They process your payment details, billing information, and email address in order to complete the sale, issue your license key, and meet tax obligations. We receive only the limited order information needed to support you (such as your order reference and email). See Lemon Squeezy's privacy policy.

License validation

Seraglio reaches the internet on its own exactly once: on first launch, it contacts the license service operated by Lemon Squeezy to activate your key, sending only the key itself and an anonymous instance identifier, never anything about your files or what you watch. After that, the app runs fully offline, indefinitely. There are no periodic license checks, no background connections, and no telemetry of any kind. The only later connection is one you start yourself by choosing "Check for Updates," and even that sends nothing about you or your files.

Streaming from the web

Seraglio can play video you send from your browser using the optional companion. When you do, the app connects directly to the site the clip lives on, exactly as your browser would, in order to play it; that connection is between you and that site. The companion only ever hands the app a link. Nothing about what you stream, or what you watch, is sent to us: no history, no telemetry, nothing kept anywhere but your own machine.

Email support

If you email hello@seraglio.app, we'll use your message and address only to help you and won't add you to any marketing list.

Your rights & contact

You may request access to or deletion of the limited order information we hold by writing to hello@seraglio.app. For payment data held by the merchant of record, contact Lemon Squeezy directly.
